There’s a myth that sustainable travel means roughing it. In truth, some of the most luxurious experiences in the world are also some of the most responsible.
I believe in conscious travel — journeys that are not only enriching for my clients but also respectful to the people and places they visit. That might mean choosing a boutique eco-lodge in Costa Rica that supports reforestation, or booking with a tour operator that gives back to Indigenous communities.
Sustainable travel is also about how you travel:
- Fewer flights, longer stays
- Off-the-beaten-path destinations
- Local, seasonal cuisine
- Respect for local customs and ecosystems
And yes, you can do all of that without sacrificing comfort or elegance. In fact, staying at a family-owned riad in Morocco or waking up to wildlife sounds in a conservation-focused safari lodge can often feel more luxurious than any generic five-star hotel.
When done right, travel leaves a beautiful mark — on the traveler, and the world.
